A Singer’s Open Mic Cabaret at Stookey’s Blue Room!

DETAILS:

Bring your jazz and musical theatre charts (up to three different songs, clear, readable and IN YOUR KEY) or your full piano scores. Each singer will get a 5 minute turn at the mic to introduce a song, tell a short story and perform. Everyone in the queue will sing once, then we will cycle through again for a second round.

About your hosts:

Dave Schweisguth sings the American songbook, classic musical theater and jazz. He loves lyrics, lyricists and fun, funny and hard-to-find songs. He's written, produced and performed in cabaret shows at Martuni's, Society Cabaret and Stookey's Blue Room, some featuring an array of songwriters (Harburg, Kern, Loesser, Mercer, Carolyn Leigh, Kurt Weill, Hoagy Carmichael and Andy Razaf), and others exploiting his domestic life. Dave also hosts the Paul Rose Library, helped catalog the Johnson Collection of sheet music at San Francisco's Museum of Performance and Design, and publishes…
