About the event
Kasey Knudsen is a San Francisco-based saxophonist, composer, and educator recognized as a leading voice in the Bay Area jazz scene. A graduate of Berklee College of Music, she has been praised by critics and featured in Paste Magazine’s list of "10 Female Instrumentalists Who Redefine Jazz." Knudsen has received multiple commissions, including from San Jose Jazz, Intersection for the Arts, and the California Jazz Conservatory, and was awarded InterMusic SF’s Small Chamber Music Grant. She co-leads and collaborates with numerous ensembles, performing with artists such as Tune-Yards, Fred Frith, and Charlie Hunter.
