The Marshens

The Marshens are a collective of jazz musicians based in the East Bay, forged through countless nights as the house band for The Marsh Berkeley’s Monday jam session. Together, guitarist Josh Aldana, pianist Caleb Phair, bassist Jonny Kaminek, and drummer EJ Brannan have developed a dynamic chemistry that’s equal parts grounded in tradition and eager to explore new territory. Leaning into a more contemporary jazz sound, the group blends fresh energy with a deep respect for the lineage—breathing new life into standards while carving out a voice of their own.
